Thriver Gift Basket Ideas

Breast Cancer Gift Basket Ideas :: lissayanak.com.jpg

It’s that time of year when everyone is talking about cancer: awareness, donations, giving, sharing. It’s hard to know where to start! If you’re looking for places to give this month, some of my favorites are: Glimmer of Hope, Metavivor, and Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.

One question I get often is what to give to someone who’s recently been diagnosed with cancer. When a loved one or friend is diagnosed, we want to do something, anything, to let them know that we love them and are here for them every step of the way. Fortunately for me, I’m surrounded by some pretty incredible gift givers and difference makers who inspired these ideas! What makes these ideas special is that they focus less on being a patient and more on feeling good and helping that person to remember who they are outside of the diagnosis.

Here are some ideas:

  • A cozy blanket that is machine washable

  • Cute and comfy loungewear

  • A plush pair of slippers

  • Pretty nail polish

  • A good book (or Kindle gift card!)

  • Coffee gift card for the many (many, many, many) drives to the treatment center

  • A cute tumbler for water, juices, smoothies, and nourishing drinks

  • Thrive Causemetics goodies (Fun fact: They name their products after survivors!)

  • ThriveGang anything (Co-owned by my friend, Stephanie! I’ve worn their THRIVER necklace every minute of every day since April 2019!)

  • Emily McDowell Cards (I was the recipient of overflowinggg baskets of cards both times I was diagnosed. I treasured those so much and saved them for the really hard days.)

  • Chromecast or Roku (A thoughtful friend sent one of these with a Netflix gift card to our house when I was first diagnosed in 2016 and I’ve used it soooo much on treatment recovery days!)

  • FarmGirl Flowers (Youthful, trendy, and beautiful. I’ll never forget getting these in the mail!)

  • A gift card to encourage them to do something that they love

  • Soft, fluffy, oversized cardigan for treatment days

  • No Touch Tool (‘cuz ain’t nobody got time for germs!)

Do you have more ideas? Pop them below! We can never get enough inspiration to encourage our people.
